The Machine Door – A Guarantee of Safety

In this article, we present a client who turned to BA2I with the primary goal of enhancing employee safety while improving the operational efficiency of their mixing machine. It was essential that the door remain closed during mixer operation to prevent any risk of accidents. Likewise, the mixer had to be disabled when the door was open, providing a double layer of protection for operators. This project therefore required several preliminary phases of preparation.
New Machine Door Installed
In close collaboration with partition specialists, the first day involved refurbishing the existing wall and removing the old swing door. On the second day, our Ba2i Technologies technicians immediately installed the new flexible door, specifically designed to meet the client’s safety requirements.
Ba Labo Door – Machine Door
For this project, we chose the Ba Labo flexible door solution.
Made of lacquered steel, this flexible door is equipped with a reinforced airtight curtain, preventing any particle intrusion and ensuring a clean and safe working environment, fully compliant with the strict standards of cleanrooms.
To ensure optimal safety, several control and security systems were installed:
- A safety system with a position contact integrated into the door frame and curtain. This ensures the machine activates only when the door is completely closed, thus preventing operator injury.
- The presence of a light curtain safety barrier, activated during door closure, eliminates accident risks during mixer operation.
- A flip/flop operating mode using two push buttons was added for simple and intuitive use.
- A mechanical counterweight opening system was installed to ensure quick and safe evacuation in emergencies, such as if someone were accidentally trapped inside the room.
